\n Upstream empowers customers to impact their community and strengthen the wellbeing\n of children and young people in Aotearoa. When you use a supplier through Upstream,\n this generates a portion of funding from the sale “we call an Upstream Contribution”.\n We then provide these funds towards Upstream Good Causes that fit in to one of these areas.\n
\n\n Youth work builds connections between young people and their\n community, and gives them the social and emotional support they\n need to develop critical life skills. Youth workers come\n alongside young people as positive role models and support them\n to feel confident and empowered to build a positive pathway in\n the world.\n
\n\n Positive role models make an enormous difference in the lives of\n young people. Mentoring matches young people with an older\n person who will make them feel valued and heard, help them\n manage some of life's challenges, or simply hang out and have\n fun in a safe, supportive environment.\n
\n\n For the families of children with disabilities, navigating the\n health system can be challenging, frustrating, and take a heavy\n emotional toll. Our Good Causes support children and their\n families by providing early intervention services and\n programmes, and ensuring families feel heard and supported.\n
\n\n Counselling provides vital support for children and young people\n who are facing challenges in life. Unfortunately, for many\n families, the cost of ongoing counselling sessions means that\n young people aren't able to access these services. Our Good\n Causes provide subsidised counselling in schools and in the\n community, so our young people can get the support they need.\n
\n\n Whānau play an important role in guiding young people as they\n grow, but often parents and caregivers can feel unsupported or\n lost in an ever-changing world. Our Good Causes work alongside\n whānau to equip them with the knowledge and practical tools to\n guide and support their young people.\n
